motoB I O G R A P H Y

A bit about Sasha. . .

this, my friends, is the ride of your life.  either get on and pump the throttle wide open and rock on down the road, or sit back and bitch about how you wish you could.  and when you're miles down the road in life, still stuck in the same old space, that  horizon is still going to be calling your name.

My lucky passion for motorcycle riding cannot be contained to the mere activity of just cruising highways, byways, freeways, everyway....so I decided to take the expressway.

My motorcycle has led me to experience my purpose, my dreams and helps me to blossom everyday.

Being a journalist evolved into writing a book one day:  Bikerlady: Living & Riding Free (Citadel Press)and then that book led to do more art.   To this day, when folks discover this little piece of my soul, they're like wind angels to me, little messengers blessing me with thanks for writing the book.  Everyone from those who ride motorcycles, to the super mom who never rode, to the corporate dude stuck in some ivory tower, to the big, burly biker hunk with full sleeve tats and piercings, to the dainty, beautiful housewife who is both rich and sad beyond compare.  All's I can say is thank GOD. Because, God moved through me to write that book.  How else does a chick who rides nail herself down to a chair to compose a book otherwise?

Now I've written a second book:  The Chrome Cowgirl Guide to The Motorcycle Life published by Motorbooks International.  So many random folks 'round the globe say that all these quirky art things that I do inspire them.  I'm honored indeed, therefore, I'm also creating a boundless, edge-defying, fearless website called Chrome Cowgirl for those who dare to rock their throttle and live life wide open as they taunt their horizon to stand further away so they can chase those sun rays!

My www.bikerlady.com website gets lots of happy visitors looking for more and more content every day, as home grown and unflashy as this site is.  And I thank you.  Big hugs and a free coffee, if I could.   I appreciate the folks who cruise my websites and myspacey places, facebook for facetime on the web, oh more than I can express.  I don't even think there's a smiley icon big enough to display my appreciation.  Okay, if the sun could be a geek smiley icon, that's how much I love ya'll...and you's.

Yes, I sing, I write.  My music is fun, honest, earthy, uplifting, down home alt. rock country garage with a funky urban twist.  As near as I can tell anyway.  It'll make you feel like you're escaping life as you know for a more thrilling experience.  It'll take you to your favorite contemplative spot.  It'll make you think, It'll make you dance, It'll make you laugh, Make you dream about roam'ance....(Oh, cool, that rhymes).  I'm in the homestudio here in Nashville, tucked away on the river, with some fine musicians who believe in the power of using a motorcycle idle as a back beat.  Is that the s*&t or what?  So, that made me fall madly in musical love with my new music friends here.  They understood that a motorcycle idle, gosh darn it, is music!  This entire music project = motoroadeo: rev. rock. roll. OR get out of the way.    I love producing music.  Linda Perry is my inspiration there.

I like to do mixed motorcycle media.  Guess what that is?  My art is everything I can collect on a journey and then mount onto canvas, along with acrylic paint, charcoal, sharpie, whatever.  Just everything....mixed up into a ridelicious presentation.  I guess that would be called: Sashart.  I do that to my clothes, too.

Oh and hey, I love doing the television shows.  Because that is the ultimate inspiration for people and it's so much fun.  I'm blessed to say that I've been on Travel Channel, Discovery, BBC, The Learning Channel and Outdoor Life television.  I have lots of ideas for film projects...I think I'm a budding filmmaker.

Hey, please, live passionately....  Living a lie is like drinking and driving...they just don't add up.  Not a good investment.  If you're living your truth, you're living passionately and that is profitable in every single situation.  And it's way more fun and exciting.  Truth = deep joy.  Make God proud, ya'll and you's, go live out loud.
