BIKERLADY: Living & Riding Free!

Co-star of Discovery Channel’s Motorcycle Women and TLC’s Biker Girls: Born to Be Wild

Debut Book Features the Hottest, New Trend --- Women & Motorcycling

SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA (February 13, 2004) --Sasha Mullins, co-star of Discovery Channel’s program Motorcycle Women and co-host of the upcoming special on TLC Biker Girls – Born to Be Wild successfully launched her new book: BIKERLADY: Living & Riding Free! (Citadel Press, $18.95) at Harley-Davidson’s 100th Anniversary. Her new book chronicles her personal philosophy about the metaphors of riding free and living life to the fullest and the fascinating history of women in motorcycling in her new book including inspiring stories of women who live and love life on the open road. This year BIKERLADY will be featured prominently during the annual Daytona Beach Bike Week Event, where over 600,000 are expected to attend.

“Female motorcycle riders epitomize sexy, beautiful freedom and empowerment from the most sensual perspective,” tells Sasha whose life revolves around motorcycles and the lifestyle. She adds, "Women are the fastest growing marketplace in the motorcycle industry. We're the ones really driving new bike sales!” Smitten by two-wheeled freedom as a gypsy rider on the open road, Sasha founded Bikerlady Inc., a multi-faceted media and merchandise company devoted to the female motorcycle enthusiast. She is also a popular freelance journalist for several motorcycle publications including; Easyriders, American Iron, Cycle World, American Rider, Thunder Press and Harley Davidson’s HOG Tales. Sasha is lead vocalist and songwriter of the rock band Sasha & The Road.

From Clara Wagner joyously hiking up her skirt to race a motorcycle in 1910 to today’s female celebrities cruising the open roads in a blaze of chrome glory, Sasha’s new book BIKERLADY delves into the history, the community, the phenomenon, the sport, the dreams, and the pride of all women riders. This inspiring book explores the unique sisterhood of all biker ladies—old and young, mothers and daughters, sisters, wives, grandmothers, executives, celebrities, artists, teachers, and more who race on a track or ride the endless highways and twisting turns on their own personal journeys of self-expression.

Two wheels and an open road...For Bikerladies, it’s an irresistible call to adventure. The motorcycle embodies the allure of living life on the edge, of defying every expectation, and escaping from the ordinary—in a blur, on a steel horse and dressed in leather. And for the growing community of women who love motorcycles, it’s a passion unlike any other, a relationship defined by self-discovery, strength, and joy.

BIKERLADY: Living & Riding Free! captures the power and spirit of the female motorcycling lifestyle. It is a glorious testament to every woman who heads out on the highways of life taking control of her destiny and who isn’t afraid to face challenges at full throttle.
