Sasha the Philosopha
welcome to the world of my philosophies.  one day I just started writing these subway epiphanies
and lo N behold they just kept growing.  they are for the enlightening entertainment of all you dearies out there.
yep that means YOU.

Yamn Dankee

That's right.  I'm considered a Yamn Dankee.  A Northerner living in the South.  I am now a resident of Nashvegas for the time being.  Oh, I didn't mean to be a full time resident here.  You see, this yamn dankee done lost her apartment in New York City.  And it was a heartbreaker.

Here I was working on a project in Nashville, and subletting my apartment, all legal mind you, and through a series of events including the apartment being worth double what I was paying thanks to the extreme rich coming into my home town and buying up all the real estate, my little home, all 350 square feet of that little home was now the rental price of a whole HOUSE here in Nashville.  I could not afford to return.  I had the lease here in Nashville while I was working on these new projects.  And my beloved friend who was subletting, left in the middle of her lease.  I offer no judgment here.  Things just fell apart and my life in NYC was over, as I know it anyway.

Living in the south, for this northerner has been a wonderful experience for me.  I've learned many new things.  Especially how to be calm and laid back and just speak less.  I have a southern boyfriend now and he's the most awesome dude!  A big hunky guy, who rides motorcycles of course, and he's a musician, and just a gem of a person.  He's the rock I've never had, besides Jesus of course.  But, this fellow is SO much like Jesus in lots of ways.  He's highly treasured by many people because he is a gentle man.  A highly intelligent guy, but keeps those smarts quiet.  He's not a flaunter.  He doesn't have to prove himself.  He just is thoroughly assured and a very loving soul.  My cat, Miss GypZ Jingles, loves him to pieces.  He's got two toy poodles that are the most well behaved little fuzz balls you ever want to know.  So, the highlight of living in the south has been meeting the man.

The next highlight has been this house I live in.  Gosh it is SO awesome.  I've never had a house to live in except when I was a kid growing up with the folks.  But my own house, goodness, this is a trip.  I mean, I have EVERY room is this house filled with stuff to create....lots of moments to create are at the ready whereever I am in this house.  How did I go from 350 SQ FT to a whole house of stuff???  Yard sales.  My entire house is decorated in treasures found at yard sales.  Very funky and comfy.  It's a wonderful vibe and there are ghosts in the house who love me too and I love them back.  I love this house so much that I touch the walls and say THANK GOD that I live in such a pretty home...which is really sort of funky and old, but has LOADS of character.  So, this is a nice highlight to living in the south.  Affording to rent a whole house for the price of a studio apartment!  Wheeeee!

Another highlight has been the music that I've been creating.  Wowzee.   Amazing music.  And I'm co-recording and co-engineering some of the projects so that's an all new situation that I'm learning in addition to writing, performing and so forth.  www.myspace.com/motoroadeo - check it out.

Oh, and another bonus, a garage for my bike where I can WORK on the bike.  Now, this is a blessing and I thank my Lucky JESUS stars to be so fortunate!   And on Monday I begin my new job working at an ol' skool motorcycle garage where I will be working on bikes....and lots more about this story will unfold on the myspace.

However, I miss my beloved NYC.  I miss my neighbors, my neighborhood, my life there.  I will ALWAYS be a New York City GIRL.  AND I want to go home someday.  I crave Manhattan, my family, my friends.   It can be lonely here in Nashville because all the family is North.  See, I want to live in both places, though.   I need this southern life....gentle and friendly, filled with a take time attitude.  I sooooooooooo need that.  The only challenge here in the south is finding a decent paying job.  It's really hard.  Nothing like NYC.  NOT AT ALL!  So, I have to work as a honky tonk bartender in the meantime, whilst I fulfill my dreams to be a fulltime artist.  At least I get to be a grease monkey in a motorcycle garage now, too.  That's fun!

I ponder many things about my life these days.  I could reallllly never do that before in NYC, unless I escaped the energy there because it's so ALLL consuming.  Here, in the south.....it's quiet like I've never known.  I spend a great deal of time alone with nothing but the sound of the refrigerator humming and the clicking of the keyboard as I type.  Or, lost in the headphones, recording music.  Or with just the sound of the sewing machine hopping out stitches into the designs I create.   Or, maybe it's the smell of oil paint dancing across the canvas.

I am lost in art here in the South.  And lost in love.

Father, in the name of Jesus, by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT, open my eyes to accept a new way of life and living.  Open my heart to embrace a new way of loving a new direction.  Open my mind to not frown upon your divine plan because I don't understand where it's taking me.  And bless me with the gift of divine wisdom and knowledge so that I can conquer any fear of the unknown.  AMEN.

Love your wild child and divine ragamuffin, Sasha, who will now and again face a hurdle, but hopefully sail over it with divine air pump sneakers...

Dear Sasha:

(excerpt). . .I really want to change my way of living because I'm not happy at all. . .

Deb

Dearest Deb:

The first thing I recommend if you want to change, is change.  Begin with a journal and list all the things you want to change about your life and yourself and make sure you describe WHY you want to change so that you understand.  Next, pray about it.  Offer it all up to the LORD.  Then, list all the things of your dreams, exactly as you want them.  List it all and only share it with GOD and yourself and revisit it often.  Alter it as you wish because you need to be definitive about those things of the heart you desire and WHY you want them.  How will it benefit your life and the lives of others?  How does it align with God's will for you.  God's will is His divine Plan for exactly how he made you according to your natural talents and abilities.  If you do not know, go to the book of James in the New Testament and READ it all.  "You do not have because you do not ask."   Active faith is key.  Have faith in GOD, and act upon your dreams....but do so according to love.

Love,

Sasha!
